Ramsbury Run 2026: Cool temps and hot times!

The annual Ramsbury Run returned in fantastic style on Sunday, bringing runners, families and supporters together once again for one of the village’s most popular community events hosted by Ramsbury Scouts.

While this year’s weather was certainly cooler than the glorious sunshine of last year, the conditions proved ideal for runners tackling the course — even if spectators needed an extra layer or two while cheering from the sidelines!

The day began with our youngest runners enthusiastically taking to the recreation ground field races, supported by proud parents, friends and family members. Their energy and determination set the tone perfectly for another brilliant day of community spirit and sporting achievement.

The under-15s then tackled the challenging 3km course, with impressive performances across both the girls’ and boys’ races. It was fantastic to see so many young runners taking part and pushing themselves around the course.

At 11am, attention turned to the main event as runners gathered at the Ramsbury Recreation Centre start line for the 5-mile multi-terrain race. The scenic route once again wound through the beautiful surroundings of Ramsbury village and the Ramsbury Manor Estate, providing a challenging but hugely enjoyable course for competitors of all abilities.

This year’s race will certainly be remembered for a remarkable performance from Felix Wenham, who set a brand new course record with an incredible time of 27 minutes and 13 seconds — a phenomenal achievement on a demanding multi-terrain course.

Despite the cooler weather, the atmosphere around the course remained fantastic throughout the morning. Our brilliant volunteers ensured runners were supported every step of the way, from marshalling the route and managing water stations to helping with registration, timing, parking, the BBQ and cake stall.

A huge thank you goes to every volunteer who helped make the event possible. The Ramsbury Run relies entirely on the dedication and hard work of people who give up their time both in the lead-up to the race and on the day itself.

Runners, families and spectators were also able to enjoy refreshments from the ever-popular BBQ and cake stall, while participating Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts proudly received their special Ramsbury Run badges in recognition of their efforts and involvement.

As one of our major annual fundraisers, the Ramsbury Run helps support the valuable work Ramsbury Scouts carries out with young people throughout the year. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors whose generosity and support make the event possible.

Our major sponsor, The Capricorn Foundation, finances both the running and conservation of the Ramsbury Manor Estate, including its properties and Collection, while also supporting local Ramsbury charities and national charitable causes.

We would also like to thank our fantastic event sponsors:

  • Barnes Coaches – one of the area’s leading coach operators with over 100 years of experience providing coach hire, holidays, day trips and travel services.

  • Ramsbury Estates – managing 19,000 acres across Wiltshire, Berkshire and Hampshire, with interests spanning farming, brewing, distilling, property and education.
