What a spectacular day for the annual Ramsbury Run! Under clear blue skies and brilliant sunshine, the village came alive on Sunday as runners of all ages laced up their trainers for this much-anticipated community event hosted by Ramsbury Scouts.

The day kicked off with our youngest participants taking centre stage - Ramsbury's future athletes enthusiastically running laps around the recreation centre field, cheered on by proud parents and spectators. Their determination and energy set the perfect tone for the day!

Following the children's event, our talented under-15s took on a challenging 3km course, with both girls and boys demonstrating impressive stamina and sportsmanship throughout the race.

At 11am, it was time for the main event. A total of 95 runners gathered at the Ramsbury Recreation Centre starting line, ready to tackle the new 5-mile multi-terrain course. This year's route featured a scenic loop around our picturesque village, taking in the manor grounds and adding a fresh challenge - a steady incline halfway through that tested even the most seasoned runners!

While the glorious sunshine created perfect conditions for spectators, some runners found the heat challenging. Thankfully, our wonderful volunteers ensured water stations were well-stocked along the route, and energy-boosting bananas awaited finishers at the end.

Speaking of volunteers - this event simply wouldn't be possible without the dedicated team who work tirelessly behind the scenes for months. From course planning and safety marshalling to setting up on the day, running the BBQ and cake stall, and everything in between - we owe them all a massive thank you!

Hungry spectators and competitors alike enjoyed delicious refreshments from our BBQ and cake stall, making it a true community celebration. Our participating Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts were especially proud to receive their special Ramsbury Run badges - well-earned mementos of their achievement!

As one of our major annual fundraisers, the Ramsbury Run helps support the valuable work we do with young people throughout the year. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors who make this event possible: Ramsbury Estates, Barnes Coaches, Waverton Asset Management, and the Ramsbury Manor Foundation.

The Ramsbury Run has firmly established itself as a key event in the local running calendar, bringing together competitive runners, families, and community members for a day of healthy activity and fun. We're already looking forward to next year's event!
